definition of a closed mind
Saturday 21 June, 2003 at 11:58AM (Nereus) :: permalink :: comments (4) This is pretty funny. I have been posting on a NZ surfing site board regularly for some time now. A recent thread talked about several topics that weren't surfing related but pretty interesting anyway - it started off about aliens and then I mentioned a new technology called inertialess drive. After a certain person rubbished the topic in no uncertain terms, I politely suggested that perhaps they had a bit of a closed mind, even if they were correct. Their reply had me laughing my head off: I only have a closed mind towards things which are crap. Well I thought it was funny anyway ..and yes, they were serious. The ignorance of some people astounds me. comments (4)

I think the response is humorous if you appreciate the fact that this individual is defining his/her version of "crap", which still leads back to your original conclusion which is that there has to be an understanding other than your own? I think the response is colorful and perhaps your humor is an indication of an open mind?
